Cuando los niños de Archer´s Peak comienzan a desaparecer, todos parecen perder las esperanzas. La mayoría de los chicos nunca regresan, o aparecen asesinados horriblemente. Los pocos que han regresado cuentan terribles historias de terroríficas criaturas que viven en las sombras. Su única esperanza para encontrar y acabar con esa amenaza, que todos parecen querer ignorar, es una misteriosa visitante acabada de llegar al pueblo. Una que sí cree en las historias de los niños, porque ella también puede ver a las terribles criaturas. Su nombre es Erica Slaughter, y se dedica a matar monstruos... porque alguien tiene que hacerlo.
